February
2012
Dear
praying friends
Good
news!
We
have finally received the go-ahead for leaving for Honduras. While our support
is not quite complete, it is close enough to allow us to leave.
We
have been living temporarily in St Nicéphore, near Drummondville, Québec, since
mid-November. The present address will be meaningless once we leave. If you are not on our email list, and yet
have an email address, could you please let me know at johnedfran@gmail.com ?
This would facilitate a more regular communication as there is no guarantee of
ordinary paper mail either reaching us in Honduras or reaching you from
Honduras. We will send you letters if you are not on our email list, but it
takes quite a bit of time for mail to get through.
We
plan to leave in the end of February, but have not purchased our tickets yet as
there are a few things to get done first. Our last vaccination is on February
21st. We are in the process of gathering documents to have stamped
at the consulate in Montreal, which will allow us to apply for permanent
residence status once we are in Honduras.
We
have been looking at different possibilities for house-renting while in
Honduras, and it may be that we will have chosen one by this weekend. Rent is
much cheaper there than here!
Here are some subjects you could pray for:
1)
Speedy adaptation to Central American
culture
2)
Safety in a violent country
3)
Earning the confidence of the
Honduran pastors and leaders so that I can help more effectively.
4)
That our belongings might arrive
safely, without being stolen (we are simply taking along some extra suitcases)
5)
That the remaining needed support
will be made up
6)
For the sale of our Pontiac Vibe
And some things to praise for:
1)
Indira and Lesbia, from the
children’s home, will be attending university – a first!
2)
Some generous friends from Quebec are
paying for their education
3)
Roberto is doing well and preparing
for a career as a mechanic
4)
For the way people have responded
regarding our support during the last few months
Many thanks for your friendship, your prayers and your support.
May the Lord bless you abundantly!
Yours
in His service
John
and Lise Francis
